Fein effortlessly combines subject, object and form in her poetic depictions. Partly in an academic manner, partly abstracted, with hinted or energetic brushstrokes, delicate or strong colors.
Apart from a certain thoughtfulness of the mostly self-contained figures, their selection of motifs is not subject to any schematic specifications or thematic hierarchies. The only selection criterion is a respectful curiosity about people and animals, landscapes and objects, structures and patterns.
Isabelle Fein (* 1973 in Wiesbaden, lives and works in Berlin) studied at the HfG in Offenbach with Prof. Heiner Blum and completed a one-year guest study at the Städelschule, Frankfurt with Prof. Michael Krebber.
Fein has been represented by the Parisa Kind gallery since 2007. She also had solo exhibitions at the Fort Gansevoort Gallery and the Jack Hanley Gallery, both in New York, and took part in numerous group exhibitions, among others at the Kunsthalle Nürnberg, the Halle für Kunst Lüneburg and the Kindl in Berlin. In 2019 she presented a group of works in the exhibition “Paint also known as blood” at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. As part of “Friend of a Friend Warsaw”, the Parisa Kind gallery was showing a selection of Fein's works in the Galeria Pola Magnetyczne in the same year. Fein was artist-in-residence at CCA Andratx on Mallorca twice.
